Smart & Connective aims to cut office energy bills with connected devices
Co-founded in Valbonne in 2021 by Ambre Saurat, the start-up remotely controls lighting, heating and air conditioning in commercial buildings.
Lights left on in the evening, air conditioning running in empty rooms: commercial buildings waste a significant share of the energy they consume. Smart & Connective, a start-up based in the Sophia Antipolis technology park, offers to connect them so that lighting, heating, air conditioning and ventilation can be controlled.
The company was set up in 2021 in Valbonne, according to Côte Magazine. Its co-founder, Ambre Saurat, claims savings of up to 35% on the consumption of equipped buildings, a figure supplied by the company.
The market is being driven by regulation: France's “décret tertiaire” requires office and retail buildings of more than 1,000 m² to reduce their energy consumption gradually, by 40% by 2030 compared with a reference year.
