Choose your sunlounger the day before, pay online and find it free when you arrive: that is the service offered by MySunbed, which is now setting out to conquer Paris, L'Essentiel reported. The Nice start-up runs a booking platform for sunloungers at private beaches and pools, as well as management software for venues.

The company has raised €1.6m to expand to beaches around the world, according to Le Journal des Entreprises. It is based at the Hub de l'innovation in Nice.

MySunbed was founded in 2020 by Sébastien Tomi and Brice Sorgia, after several months of development. It says it has more than 150 client venues in seven countries.

The model meets a need among private beaches on the French Riviera, which are looking to simplify how they manage bookings. The challenge now is to win over customers beyond seaside resorts, among hotel pools and leisure venues in big cities.
