The succession is secured at Pierman. Ophélie Mandier took over in August as chair and chief executive of the Fréjus-based industrial group, Le Journal des Entreprises reports. She succeeds her father, Pierre Mandier, who built the company through successive takeovers.

The group was formed through a series of acquisitions, starting with Deschamps Père et Fils in 2004. It has become a specialist in composite materials, combinations of fibres and resins used to make parts that are both light and strong. The business employs around a hundred people, according to Le Journal des Entreprises.

The group has also diversified into aluminium for the construction industry, through its subsidiary Pierman Esterel Aluminium.

The new head inherits a medium-sized company rooted in the east of the Var, and an industrial base in which composites find a wide range of outlets, from boating to construction.
