Robertet, one of the big names in Grasse perfumery, is setting up its own accelerator. Called Villa Blu, it is located in the former headquarters of the Charabot company, which Robertet bought in 2007, FashionNetwork reported.

The idea is to host start-ups working on natural ingredients for fragrance, flavours or health and wellbeing. Five young companies are due to join every six months, and the site can accommodate up to twenty. Robertet describes Villa Blu as the first accelerator devoted entirely to naturals. The group can invest up to €100,000 in each start-up it supports.

For the family-owned company, the aim is to spot innovation in its sector early and to make Grasse, the world's perfume capital, more attractive to young entrepreneurs.
