Connected defibrillators: Guillaume Fornas succeeds his father as head of Citycare
The Venelles-based SME, which leases more than 10,500 remotely monitored defibrillators, has a new chairman and chief executive. The founder's son wants to “accelerate” its development.

Citycare is handing over the baton. Guillaume Fornas has become chairman and chief executive of the Venelles company, in the Bouches-du-Rhône, which specialises in connected defibrillators, according to an announcement relayed by Presse Agence. He succeeds his father, Patrick Fornas, who founded the company in 2013 and under whom he had until now served as managing director.
“Accelerate our development while staying true to our DNA”: that is how the new head sums up his roadmap. Citycare reports a fleet of more than 10,500 defibrillators and 20 employees, with revenue of €7.13m.
The company's model is based on leasing rather than sales. Its automated external defibrillators, installed in businesses, shops and municipalities, run a daily self-test and report faults themselves. Customers cited by Le Journal des Entreprises include Carrefour, Volkswagen, Decathlon and Burger King. A team of nine sales staff covers several regions, including Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.
The stakes are literally a matter of life and death: in a cardiac arrest every minute counts, and an out-of-order device hanging on the wall is useless. It is on this guarantee of working equipment that Citycare has built its model.
